About The Event

Join us on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Barberian Steak House for an intimate and exclusive evening in honour of Harry Barberian and in support of a cause deeply meaningful to the Barberian family.

Harry Barberian was more than a celebrated restaurateur. He was a visionary host, a mentor, and a proud family man whose warmth and generosity helped shape Toronto’s culinary community. From welcoming world leaders and artists to nurturing the next generation of restaurateurs, Harry created spaces where everyone felt at home.

In 1986, Harry received care from Dr. Jeremy L. Freeman at Mount Sinai Hospital, part of Sinai Health. The exceptional treatment he received gave him many more cherished years with his family and community. This dinner pays tribute to his legacy while supporting the hospital that made those years possible.

Drive Research Forward

Your support powers groundbreaking discoveries to advance patient care.

About The Cause

Since 2013, the Harry Barberian Memorial Dinner has built a powerful legacy of donor‑driven impact. This program has helped fuel research excellence by supporting 107 scholarly works, empowering trainees to pursue innovative projects that advance patient care and medical knowledge. Sinai Health has been proud to serve as a research site for 21 of these projects, fostering discovery, collaboration, and meaningful impact within the field of Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery.

Proceeds from the evening support the Barberian/MSH Education and Research Scholarship Fund within the Department of Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital. This philanthropic support plays a critical role in ensuring emerging clinician‑scientists have access to the training and research opportunities needed to transform promising ideas into real‑world improvements for patients.

Otolaryngology is the medical specialty dedicated to diagnosing and treating conditions of the ear, nose, throat, and related structures of the head and neck. Specialists in this field care for patients with hearing disorders, airway and voice conditions, congenital abnormalities, facial trauma, and complex head and neck cancers.

Through advanced surgical innovation and precision‑based technologies, this team continues to improve outcomes for thousands of patients each year. Ongoing investment in education and research ensures the next generation of surgeons and scientists is equipped to meet the growing demand for highly specialized head and neck care across the Greater Toronto Area and beyond.

As a fully affiliated teaching hospital of the University of Toronto, Mount Sinai’s Department of Otolaryngology—Head & Neck Surgery is internationally recognized for excellence in research, training, and patient care. Each year, its multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive, compassionate care to nearly 20,000 patients facing complex ear, nose, and throat conditions—an enduring testament to the impact of sustained philanthropic partnership.
