As her cousin, I will cherish the memories of growing up together and spending many holidays during our childhood. Laura was such a caring person, entering the profession of Nursing, was her calling. Her selfless nature will never be forgotten as she was always available to assist with our family.

I will forever remember and cherish all our wonderful memories going back to growing up together in KL. Our family has been truly blessed and forever grateful for having you in our lives. You will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery. We are incredibly thankful for the excellence in care that Laura provided to all of our patients. She had an uncanny ability to connect with her patients. She was committed to her practice and excited to be on the leading edge of the specialty. We are extremely happy to see this foundation started and wish to see her name live on through helping to advance the care of the patients she loved so dearly.

Laura was a such a special person to anyone lucky enough to have met her. She truly loved life, and embraced every facet of it with kindness, empathy, joy, and love. This scholarship is a true reflection of Laura’s dedication to the nursing profession she loved. She believed that all patients deserved the very best of care, and advocated tirelessly for them. How fitting that her life’s work will continue through this foundation, helping those who are truly committed to wound care. Laura, you will be forever loved, missed more than you know, and never forgotten. Thank you for being you.

Laura will never be forgotten, nor will her impact. I will miss her sense of humor and caring personality. One of my fondest memories is when she found out I was in Mount Sinai recovering from an operation and she said I’m coming to visit you. Of course she turns up with a drink and food as she said the hospital food is nasty lol. She always thought of others and was so kind. He’s an is a much better place now and am sure she is teaching them all about wounds each and every day. Rest in peace sweet lady and thanks for allowing me the privilege to know you 🥰

Wow … we have lost one of the greats :(. I have had the honour of working with Laura at the Wellesley, St Mikes and Mount Sinai and I have learned a ton from her. Not to sound too cheesy, but Laura embodies all the values that we look for in best clinicians - compassion, collaboration, open sharing, and an unwavering advocacy for the vulnerable. In the realm of wound care, her clinical endeavors were not just about applying bandages or administering treatments; they were a compassionate journey into the realms of pain and recovery. Each interaction with a patient was infused with the genuine desire to understand not just the physical wounds but the emotional and psychological ones as well. Her compassion was the “healing balm” that transcended medical charts and touched the hearts of those under her care. Collaboration was her cornerstone. In a field where interdisciplinary teamwork is paramount, she fostered an environment where ideas flowed freely, where nurses, therapists, and fellow clinicians collaborated seamlessly. Her collaborative spirit was not just limited to her immediate team; it extended to patients and their families, recognizing that true healing often involves a collective effort. Open sharing was not just a professional ethos; it was a personal commitment. Her knowledge wasn't locked away in the confines of textbooks; it was shared openly with colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous learning. And finally, her advocacy for the vulnerable was a testament to her sense of social responsibility. Everyone knew that Laura was a passionate voice for those who couldn't speak for themselves. My condolences to Laura's family and loved ones. Although we weren't close these last several years she was a good friend while we were growing up in Kirkland Lake, working together as lifeguards at the K.L. Complex, and while attending Queen's together. I remember her as always being invested, and more often than not she was usually smiling; she was a genuinely lovely person. May she rest in peace.

I have very fond memories of working with Laura as a lifeguard in Kirkland Lake many years ago. It was clear then that she was destined to make significant contributions to the medical field, even as a young lifeguard. And she was always smiling! My sincere condolences to her family. As a teen, Laura babysat our children. She was a wonderful person back then and we are so proud of the wonderful adult she became. What a legacy. So sad that she is gone.
