NICU Parent Advisory Committee

The NICU Parent Advisory Committee is made up of parents who have experienced the care of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

Funds raised help the committee implement thoughtful initiatives to help NICU families manage the challenges of being in hospital and transitioning home.

Our Wings to Fight Fundraising Gala

Throughout her and her daughter's journey with Crohn's, Mary knew the importance of raising funds and awareness around this life-long disease. Mary has fundraised for the past 10 years in honour of the care she received from the Zane Cohen Centre, part of Sinai Health.

“Dr. Cohen took care of me at a time when my Crohn’s disease was impossible to manage. He saved my life. Through Our Wings to Fight fundraising event, we’re hoping to reach new donors who understand the importance of research, and the importance of giving people back their lives.”

For 15 years Beth Gherson worked as a nurse at Sinai Health, in the Women’s & Infants’ Health department. She never dreamed that one day she would be returning to Sinai Health as a very different kind of patient. In 2021 Beth discovered a lump that lead her to a HER2+ve breast cancer diagnosis and was care for by the team at the Marvelle Koffler Breast Centre. During her treatment, Beth decided to set up a fundraising page as a way to raise impactful funds and awareness. To date, Beth has raised over $45,000 to support Breast Cancer research.

"Due to my diagnosis of HER2+ve breast cancer in 2021 I became starkly aware of the importance of Breast Cancer awareness and the need for research funding. So please give generously. The future of someone you love may need that care."
