5th Annual Duck & Dodge in support of NF1

Tuesday, January 30, 2024 , 6:00 - 10:00 p.m.

Thank you to everyone who came to battle it out on the court to support revolutionary research at Sinai Health!

The fifth annual Duck & Dodge tournament raises funds for neurofibromatosis (NF1) research at Sinai Health's Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute (LTRI).

We've got a mission to tackle NF1 and make a real difference in the lives of those affected.

When Jonathan Rankine was just eight months old, he was diagnosed with the rare disease neurofibromatosis type 1, or NF1. A genetic disorder that can affect multiple systems of the body, NF1 causes a wide range of symptoms that can be debilitating and life-threatening. NF1 might start with light brown patches and freckles, but the challenges it poses go much deeper. From skeletal issues to cognitive hurdles and an increased risk of cancer, this genetic condition demands our attention. We need more research to unlock its mysteries, enhance treatments, and ultimately find a way to prevent and cure it.

In 2019, Claire and Craig Rankine kick-started this family-friendly dodgeball tournament to turbocharge the research that can save lives and offer hope to patients and their families. With your support, we've already raised over $500,000 to power this vital research forward, but the game is far from over. Let's keep the dodgeballs flying and the hope soaring!
