GAME PLAY

Dodgeball begins with 6-8 players from each team on the court, with up to 10 players allowed on a team. Dodgeballs are placed on the center line, and when the game starts, players rush to retrieve them.

Game Format

  • Warm up
  • Round 1: Single elimination (best 2 out of 3) and record the winner of the match.
  • Round 2: Single elimination (best 2 out of 3) and record the winner of the match.
  • Round 3: Single elimination (best 2 out of 3) and record the winner of the match.

Quarter finals:

  • Top 6 teams including 2 win back teams play one game. The winners moves to the semifinals.

Semifinals:

  • Top 2 teams play one game. The winner moves to the finals.

Game Finals:

  • Finals: best 2 out of 3 games.

 Win your way back into the game!

  • Jousting Tournament: When not on court, head over to the jousting area. The top 2 teams that are able to knock off the most competitors / stay on the beam the longest wins a spot back into the quarter finals.
  • Dunk Contest: When not on court, head over to the jousting area. The top 2 teams that are able to knock off the most competitors / stay on the beam the longest wins a spot back into the quarter finals.
  • Warm Up: A point will be awarded to the winners of the warm up games.
  • Teams with the most points accrued will win back into the quarter finals.

Dodgeball Rules

  • A ball is “live” as soon as it’s thrown.
  • A dodgeball is "dead" when it hits anything besides a player or hits a player without being caught.
  • You may catch the ball with any part of the body but not with your clothing.
  • Players get out by hitting them with a live ball or by catching the live ball your opponent throws at you.
  • A player can be revived if a live ball is caught by one of your team members.
