Dr. Nucelio Lemos, Sinai Health
Dr. Nucelio Lemos is a globally recognized physician, surgeon, and researcher at Mount Sinai Hospital, renowned for his work in gynaecology and pelvic health. He leads Canada’s only neuropelveology program — an emerging specialty focused on diagnosing and treating pelvic nerve pain. Known for bridging disciplines, Dr. Lemos develops innovative solutions for complex pelvic disorders, advancing care and improving outcomes for patients.

Shay Freger, McMaster University
Shay Freger is a PhD student in medical sciences at McMaster University. As a national leader in improving endometriosis and pelvic pain care, he has dedicated over a decade to bridging science, advocacy, and health system reform. His recent op-eds and policy work call for a national endometriosis strategy and increased investment in women’s health research and care. With a background in medicine, public health, and patient-centred research, he is determined to ensure no one with pelvic pain is dismissed, misdiagnosed, or left behind.
