Why We Fundraise

In 2019, instead of receiving traditional wedding gifts, we decided to start our 'Gift of Life' fundraising efforts to support Mount Sinai's most critical needs.

Over the years, our friends and family have generously contributed to enable Mount Sinai Hospital to address the urgent requirements of the Toronto Community. We are proud to match every gift that is donated to our efforts to double our impact we are making to Sinai Health.

Our 2024 Efforts

In 2024, we are directing our fundraising efforts towards the hospital's highest-priority need: the acquisition of an incubator to enhance Mount Sinai Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) incubator fleet.

Every year, the medical teams at Mount Sinai Hospital deliver 7,000 babies, with 1,100 of them requiring critical care and support in the NICU due to preterm birth, low birth weight, breathing difficulties, or infection. As a level 3 NICU, the hospital serves as the national referral center for treating Canada’s most vulnerable and fragile infants. While the number of babies needing NICU care has increased, Mount Sinai’s NICU equipment has aged. To meet the urgent needs of these fragile infants, Sinai Health will procure a new fleet of 95 incubators.

Your donation to the Gift of Life will ensure that Canada’s tiniest patients receive the best possible care during their vulnerable and critical moments. A charitable tax receipt will be issued for all eligible donations.
