Jeanette Brown
For my challenge, I'm swimming a total of two kilometres in Lake Ontario (yes, it's cold, and yes, I'm actually doing it!) in support of menopausal women who feel like they're constantly battling their symptoms and feel lost and lonely. Why? Because I'm a 57 year old menopausal warrior myself and as if the hot flashes and sleepless nights weren't enough, bladder control often decides to join the party too!
As someone who helps women regain control over their bladder health—especially as we navigate through menopause—I've seen firsthand how much this can impact our quality of life. This fundraiser is all about shedding light (and a little bit of lake water) on the real struggles of this stage in life while also having a laugh at the unpredictability of it all.
If you've ever had to cross your legs during a sneeze, or sprint to the bathroom like it's an Olympic event, then you know exactly why I'm taking the plunge (literally!). Every stroke I swim is dedicated to breaking the stigma, creating some laughs, and, of course, supporting those of us navigating this hot and bothered phase with a smile.
Let's make waves for a great cause—together, we can keep our heads above water for our generation and the generations that come after us,for our daughters, nieces, sisters, friends and granddaughters; together, we rise.
