We've joined the call to become a Champion of Care for Sinai Health!
The Spokespeople are a group of Toronto friends, which include Mel and Ellen Little, Andrew and Judy Kent, David and Cheryl Blinick, Larry and Julie Schwartz, Allan and Judy Borodin, Susan Leston and Harry Hochman, Maarten Heilbron and Kim Worobec, Bonny and Molyn Leszcz , Karen Garmaise and Maurice Moss amongst others that have been cycling in and around Toronto for many years. Nineteen years ago, they decided to use one of their fall rides to raise funds for a worthwhile charity or cause. To date over $150,000 has been raised by this group of friends. Each year, the group chooses to fund raise for a worthwhile registered charity or cause.
Over the years we have cycled for organizations that include The Canadian Cancer Society, CAMH, Food Banks Canada, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Reena, to mention just a few. This year the Spokespeople are proud to support The Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care at the Sinai Health Foundation on their September 30th ride.
One of the riders in our group was recently supported by this Palliative Care Program and can attest to the incredible service that they offered to their patients and families. The dedicated staff from The Temmy Latner Centre provided kind and compassionate care, listened to the wishes of family members, and worked to ensure that the patient’s passing was as peaceful as possible.
