Moms & Babies
Overview:
Sinai Health has one of Canada’s largest high-risk obstetrics programs, accounting for 2/3 of the more than 7,000 pregnancies Sinai manages each year. Home to the Ontario Fetal Centre, one of only a few centres worldwide to offer a full range of fetal therapies, as well as the country’s most comprehensive Medical Disorders in Pregnancy program. Your generosity can power advances in pregnancy and newborn care to give every baby a fighting chance, right from the start.
Impact in Action:
“My care team at Mount Sinai brought such a peace of mind to my pregnancy,” says Maria. “I had my own team of cheerleaders in the staff, and I was reassured knowing that if I had any issues during the pregnancy or delivery, I would be taken care of.” — Maria Yusuf, mother of quintuplets
Cancer
Sinai Health is a national leader in cancer care, home to one of Ontario’s largest specialized cancer programs. Mount Sinai Hospital performs over 3,000 cancer surgeries annually, treating the most complex cases across breast, head & neck, urologic, colorectal, sarcoma, and abdominal cancers. Over 40% of the research at our Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute (LTRI) is dedicated to oncology, driving forward breakthroughs in treatment, technology, and personalized care.
Sinai Health is uniquely positioned to shape the future of cancer care — from pioneering discovery science, clinical research and surgical innovation to compassionate, wraparound programs like PYNK for young women facing breast cancer. With your support, we can expand access to life-saving treatments, train the next generation of cancer specialists, and provide patients and families with the care, dignity, and hope they deserve at every stage of the cancer journey. Now is the time to make a lasting impact.
Impact in Action:
“It can be overwhelming to navigate the physical and mental impacts of cancer, and I feel so supported knowing that there’s always someone an email or phone call away. Talking to Linda is like catching up with a friend — she creates a safe space where I can ask or share anything.” — Sandra, PYNK Program
Palliative Care
Overview:
Sinai Health’s Palliative Care program develops and delivers care that enables patients with serious, life-limiting illnesses to live with comfort and dignity. Working closely with clinical colleagues in our hospitals and in the community, the team provides relief from symptoms, pain and stress, tailoring individual care plans to reflect each patient’s needs, values and hopes.
Our vision for palliative care is that every person with serious illness, their family and caregivers, have care needs met by empowered teams and prepared systems of care.
Join us to help ameliorate the symptoms, pain, anxiety, depression, spiritual distress or other suffering experienced by patients with serious illness and their loved ones. Together, we help people make the most of their remaining time, whether that be hours or years.
Impact in Action:
“The distress, the beauty, the trauma: we share it all, so that we can endure in an infinitely challenging world. No one has to face it alone.”
IBD
Overview:
Sinai Health’s Centre for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is one of the world’s leading programs for advanced IBD treatments, research and education. The center offers multidisciplinary treatment and support for patients with IBD including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. The centre integrates expert medical care, a surgical program, innovative research, and patient education to improve the quality of life for individuals affected by IBD.
As the number of Canadians struggling with this painful, often debilitating illness continues to grow, support for this work is needed more than ever. We want to be the destination for all things IBD, providing life-changing care to patients and discovering practice-changing treatments and approaches. We want to continue pushing the boundaries of IBD research and care so that we can respond to this need and share our innovations and findings with health-care providers around the world.
When you support IBD research and care at Sinai Health, you are investing in a future where we develop unparalleled expertise, advanced medical therapies, and the best possible care pathways for IBD patients.
Impact in Action:
“Mount Sinai has a great GI floor, which is really special because the patients understand what each other are going through and I have not felt so cared for in any hospital in Canada.”
“A cure would be so helpful to so many people. I just want to say thank you to the people who are donating to making research happen and to continue making the program better so that people don’t have to suffer. For myself, I feel like I have a lot to offer but I don’t always have the energy. It would be nice to feel better and do everything that I know that I can do.”
