Spin for Sinai in support of IBD

THE CAUSE

From Stacey Gitlin:

I have lived with Crohn’s disease for nearly 30 years.  I have been cared for at Mount Sinai Hospital throughout, and three years ago, I had another surgery to help address the severe symptoms of the disease. Throughout it all, I have never let the disease define me. This is in large part due to the care and support I have received from Sinai Health, from the IBD doctors to the surgeons to the nurses to the social workers. I have been able to lead a fulfilling life with my husband, our three wonderful children, and a teaching career. For this, I am so grateful.

Canada has among the world’s highest incidences of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, the two main forms of IBD, and the numbers continue to climb. Sinai Health is a global leader in IBD research and innovation. Their specialists care for more people coping with IBD than anyone else in the country.

That’s why Jonathan and I are raising funds to support the care and research at Sinai Health. We do this so that the increasing number of patients diagnosed with IBD will have an easier time with the disease. When we come together to support research, we are making it possible to improve treatments and ultimately, find ways to prevent the disease.

Thank you for your support.
