Preconception and Pregnancy in IBD Clinic

By Vivian Huang

We are excited to share that we have successfully raised over $10,000. This milestone would not have been possible without the generosity of our supporters. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed, shared our page, and helped us advance our work. Thanks to your support, we have already been able to support the launch of the MOM MII (Maternal Offspring Microbiome, Metabolomics and Immune Profiling in IBD) study.  MOM MII is an important translational study aimed to investigate if there are differences in the breastmilk composition and stool microbiome of mothers with IBD compared to mothers without IBD, as well as whether and how these differences could correlate with infant growth and development.

Your contributions are making a meaningful impact, and we are proud of what we have accomplished together so far. While we celebrate this achievement, our fundraising efforts continue. Additional support will help us expand care, conduct more research into finding ways to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes in IBD, and increase clinician training to meet the rising demand. Thank you for believing in our mission and for being part of this journey. We look forward to sharing continued progress as we work toward our overall fundraising goal.

Meet the Preconception and Pregnancy in IBD team

Sunday 30th Mar
Meet the Preconception and Pregnancy in IBD clinic and research team!  Our team includes IBD specialists and Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists, as well as residents and fellows, and medical student trainees who are interested in learning more about managing IBD in the preconception and pregnancy times of their patients' lives.

We also have research trainees from undergraduate students through to fellows, who are interested in contributing to the research towards finding ways to improve the care for people with IBD in the preconception and pregnancy tome periods.

Some of our research is also looking into potential early-life risk factors for IBD, so that in the future researchers may be able to find ways to reduce the risk of IBD.
